What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the effects of Action Observation Therapy (AOT) compared to a Motor Relearning Program (MRP) on balance and mobility in patients who have experienced a subacute stroke. This randomized controlled trial aims to fill gaps in existing research by directly comparing these two therapies in stroke patients to provide new insights and contribute valuable data for evidence-based rehabilitation practices. Participants will be assigned to one of two groups: the AOT group or the MRP group. The AOT group will engage in 30-minute sessions three times a week for eight weeks, involving watching videos followed by physical training exercises focusing on trunk and limb movements, sit-to-stand transitions, and balance activities. The MRP group will also participate in 30-minute sessions three times a week for eight weeks, performing task-oriented training exercises such as sitting balance, standing transitions, weight shifting, and reaching movements designed to improve functional performance. During the study, participants will be assessed on their balance, anticipatory balance, and mobility at the end of eight weeks. Researchers will monitor functional improvements through various exercises and physical activities designed to evaluate balance and mobility. The study does not include masking, and participants will be monitored throughout the intervention period to measure the impact of each therapy on their recovery and functional abilities.
