Study of Assertiveness and Emotion Management in Adults with Tourette Syndrome

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying people with Tourette syndrome to learn about difficulties with assertiveness and managing emotions. The study aims to understand how common these challenges are and how they relate to the severity of Tourette symptoms, quality of life, self-esteem, and other conditions like depression and anxiety. Participants will complete several electronic questionnaires, including the Rathus assertiveness questionnaire and others that measure Tourette severity, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotion regulation, and quality of life. There is no comparison group, and all participants complete these assessments at the start of the study. During the study, participants will answer various questionnaires online, which take only a few minutes each. The main outcome measured is assertiveness using the Rathus scale, along with secondary measures related to mental health and quality of life. The study is sponsored by the University Hospital, Clermont-Ferrand, and participation involves completing surveys at one time point.
