What this Trial Is About
Researchers are exploring improvements in Person-Centred Care for elderly men with moderate dependence receiving long-term care. This study focuses on meaningful activities developed with the support of occupational therapists and direct care professionals in a geriatric center. The goal is to enhance care approaches for an aging population with multiple medical conditions requiring continuous nursing support. The study uses a descriptive cross-sectional quasi-experimental design with a single group of 10 male participants averaging 84 years old. These participants engage in meaningful activities as part of an intervention module aimed at improving Person-Centred Care. The intervention is supported by occupational therapists and direct care workers who help develop and implement these activities. Participants will be evaluated using the PDC tool before and after the intervention, along with a survey at the end of the project. Researchers will analyze outcomes using statistical tests over a three-month period. The study includes monitoring of participant involvement and assessment of the role of care professionals in delivering activities. Total participation extends through the intervention and evaluation phases, with continuous nursing care maintained throughout.
