Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Referred from rehabilitation, orthopedic, or rheumatology departments
- Male or female aged 18 to 40 years
- Knee pain lasting at least 2 months
- Pain score of 3 or higher on Numeric Pain Rating Scale
- Pain when pressing medial or lateral patellar facet
- Retro patellar pain during at least two activities such as ascending or descending stairs, hopping or jumping, prolonged sitting with bent knees, kneeling, or squatting
- Positive patellar tilt test
You will not qualify if you...
- Positive physical exam findings for knee menisci, ligaments, or bursa issues
- Diagnosis of chondromalacia patellae
- Instability of tibiofemoral joint
- History of lower extremity surgery
- Rheumatoid arthritis, other connective tissue disorders, or congenital deformities
