What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating how eccentric exercises affect walking patterns in young adults with patellofemoral pain syndrome. This quasi-experimental study focuses on changes in pain, range of motion, dynamic knee angles, and gait characteristics in adults aged 18 to 35 years who have this knee condition. The study aims to better understand the impact of targeted exercises on knee function and walking ability. Participants will undergo a 6-week program where they receive McConnell taping on the knee followed by daily eccentric exercises taught by a therapist. The exercise sessions include a warm-up, specific movements like straight leg raises and hip abductions, and a cool-down phase involving various stretches. The exercises are performed in sets and repetitions adjusted over time according to each participant's stamina. Throughout the study, researchers will measure pain levels using a numeric pain scale, knee and hip range of motion with a goniometer, and gait parameters such as walking speed, stride length, and dynamic knee valgus angle using software analysis. These assessments will be done before and after the exercise program to track changes. Participants will provide informed consent and their progress will be closely monitored over the 6 weeks of intervention.
